Poverty: A word that affects a person, mentally, emotionally, and physically. When a person is thrust onto the streets, while used to having so much more than just a dumpster to rummage through, it can become a dramatic change. Mentally, the person would have to readjust, not only to a few things, but to their entire way of life. How they would get food, how they would survive the winter, or even the night. Their entire life must be rewritten, and they must relearn how to survive. Emotionally, a person may be pitied, but mostly looked down upon, as if they were inferior. Physically, a person will have to learn to live on smaller rations of food, go hungry day and night, and also not have as many hygienic necessities. They may not have clean water, or even a place to bathe. Many diseases and problems come from these issues. Can you imagine being born into such a family? Rid of a proper childhood, such an environment can be seen as an evoker of problematic situations throughout the rest of their life.
American people face less poverty-caused trauma than anywhere else, therefore, it is not as severe and extreme for us as it is for other countries. Furthermore, what about the small children that cannot help where God has placed them? As a race, the human race, we are all of the same breed. Why are we so against helping each other out, in our different time of need?
